The Ready to Go Anytime Bag
Over the course of the last 2.5 years while developing and growing Koala Clip there has been one thing that greatly suffered - my personal running. Between my day job (yep I still have a 9-5), Koala Clip, and shuttling the kids to their activities, it just felt like there was never enough time in the day.
We all know - make the time right. In concept, it seems so easy. But the reality is I needed some new tools. My former tricks just weren't cutting it.
Then the "Ready to Go Anytime" Bag came to me. I have doubles of most of my gear through upgrades over the years so let's take care of one hurdle: Always have a bag of gear ready to go. So when I have an hour between dropping my daughter off for girl scouts and picking her back up - I can sneak in a run without having to pre-plan for it. Or if I have 30 minutes between going to the bank and picking the kids up from school, I can fit in a short 3 miler instead of spending those minutes mindlessly strolling Instagram sitting in my car.
Think of it as the hospital bag every pregnant woman packs for when the baby is ready to come. Pack the basics of what you need and keep it where you spend the most amount of time outside of your house. Since my office is at home, my car is the place I spend the second most amount of time. But for commuters, it might be your office.
What's in my bag:
And everything inside the bag:
In the trunk of my car:
While this hasn't completely solved my problem of not having enough hours in the day, it has at least given me one tool to make the option of heading out easier.
PS I keep a yoga mat in my trunk too so I can roll or do exercises post running in my garage before going back on mom-duty.
